Bongo is ~8 years old and started his journey as a Board & Train from another rescue. Bongo experiences resource guarding challenges & unfortunately has not been found suitable to be a family dog. He is an affectionate and gentle old soul, with a playful nature. When progress wasn’t able to be made to cure him of his resource guarding, he was left with two choices; euthanasia, or become a RSR member. We couldn’t bare the idea of putting a good dog down, so we opened our kennel & hearts to keeping him safe. While we were hopeful that with more time, his challenges could be corrected, it has been determined that Bongo will require a significant amount of space management & someone well-versed in handling his level of care. With that in mind, Bongo has found himself as one of our Resident dogs and will live out his days with us, however many that may be.

Logan, aka Floof, was living his life as a young pup when he ran through a neighbor’s yard and was shot in the shoulder. The damage was extensive and required limb amputation. Thankfully the bullet didn’t hit any vital organs, however the experience was traumatizing to Logan and he exhibited a lot of fear aggression & faced euthanasia. Brandon, being the Dog Whisperer that he is, was called in to try & help. Logan came to us for all of his rehab needs & has been kept safe ever since. This guy lives life to the fullest and doesn’t let being a tripod slow him down. He is quirky and the master of playing mind games, especially if he senses any apprehension, but when you get into his inner “circle” of friendship, he is the biggest love bug. Logan’s hope is to one day receive a customized prosthetic ($1500+) so he can enjoy longer walks without tiring so quickly.

Stella came to RSR at just 7 months old in 2018. She is the result of a backyard breeder who was irresponsible in the caretaking of their pups. Despite a family’s best efforts to give her a good life, Stella had difficulties bonding with the adult humans & displayed some behavioral challenges. Her Husky genes also gives her a high prey drive and small animals just don’t stand a chance. Over the years, she has grown tremendously in her love for us and her best friend, Croix. She enjoys being playful, chasing after the SwiftPaws Lure, and starting the dog choir where we hear beautiful howling melodies every day!
